The view from Iztuzu Beach - aka turtle beach because of the massive sea turtle rehab center on the beach - in Dalyan Turkey. We came to Dalyan for two days and we ended up staying for eight. How many times can you stand on the beach of a sea and be surrounded by mountains? Not many, hence the logic of our extended stay. Our campground was also situated across the river from Lycian tombs carved into the side of a cliff around 400 BC (picture coming).

Reykjavik, Iceland was a small city with a great community feeling- most of the buildings are small and colorful like this row in the center of town. I’ve noticed that coastal fishing towns, regardless of their size, tend to have simpler architecture than other locations, but they make up for it with vibrant color palettes that far outpace the relatively conservative stable of paints we tend to favor in the US.
